Red Flags to Watch For
- Unexpected contact: Real government agencies won't call, text, or slide into your DMs demanding money or personal info.
- Weird payment methods: If someone claims to be from the government and asks for payment via wire transfer, gift cards, crypto, or apps like Venmo, it's a scam!
- Caller ID tricks: Don't trust what you see on your phone screen. Scammers can spoof phone numbers easily.
